Aghaz e Nau (AeN) is a nonprofit organization registered under Societies Act, 1860 since July, 1993. AeN is working with the following objectives:1. To provide treatment and rehabilitation services to people with drug abuse problem2. To provide Drug Addiction Treatment and Rehabilitation training to other NGOs 3. To carry out drug abuse prevention activities through media and in collaboration with other NGOs4. To carry out HIV/AIDS prevention activities 5. To provide counseling services to adolescents at risk6. To provide counseling services to females with psycho-social problems 7. To carry out surveys and scientific researches in the area of social sciencesAeN established drug treatment and rehabilitation center for males with drug abuse problem in 1993 and a separate drug treatment and rehabilitation center was established for females with drug abuse problem in 1995, which was funded by CIDA.AeN is providing Service Delivery Package to Street Based IDUs in Gujranwala and Sialkot. The project is being funded by Punjab AIDS Control Program (PACP), Department of Health/World Bank. AeN carries out intensive and structured drug abuse prevention activities for youth, teachers, parents and community leaders based on scientific model. Our drug abuse prevention activities are unique in nature and result oriented. AeN carried out "Care and Support" program to more than 500 drug addicts mainly IDUs over a period of 12 months. Some of them were HIV positive. The main focus was to provide them detoxification services and HIV/AIDS education to them and their family members. The project was funded by World Bank.AeN needs 2 mobile units to carry out "Care and Support" program in Gujranwala and Sialkot.
