The Pillai Group of Institutions' annual inter collegiate event, Alegría - The Festival of Joy, has become one of the largest festivals in India attracting a footfall of over 50,000 students every year. Since its launch in the beginning of 2013, Alegría has become one of Mumbai's much awaited events with star studded celebrity appearances, mind-blowing musical performances and innovative line up of competitive student aimed events that unleash the hidden talent and creativity of the youth. The festival has now witnessed appearances from some of the biggest names in Indian entertainment. Actors such as Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Elli Avram, Zayed Khan, Jackky Bhagnani, Ran Vijay Singh, Pallavi Sharda and Sarah Jane Dias have showcased their movies to the wonderful masses that visit the fesitval. Award winning Indian sporting icons Bhaichung Bhutia, Sunil Chhetri , Ashwini Ponnappa and Syed Kirmani have also visited to cheer on the athletes that take part in the various sporting events held during Alegría. The main highlights of the festival are the incredible musical performances from artists such as Yo Yo Honey Singh, Bollywood Superstar Farhan Akhtar, Bass Raja Nucleya, DJ Chetas, DJ Aqeel, Nikhil Chinapa and DJ Suketu. Also not to be missed are the visiting international performers such as the award-winning Romanian pop band Akcent, tomorrowland's resident DJ Yves V, DJs SultanShepard and Mike Candys who have set the main stage on fire with their wonderful musical sets.
