Itanos Publishing House is one of the leading Greek-language publishers in Greece. Headquartered in Crete, the company is a subsidiary of Graphic Arts Detorakis. OUR MISSION There are many way to describe the history of a civilization. The most intriguing part is that through the analysis and the research of special connotations of culture we have the ability to realize the mentality of an era, the soul of a place, the dreams and the hopes of many generations. This is possible since the habits, the traditions and the art works have a functional, as well as, a symbolic value. If we look carefully inside the history of art, the portage that led and delineated our vision of the world is that of the "open window". Since the Renaissance, the portrait of reality has been synthesized under this framework, going beyond the boundaries of the painting in order to include photographic and cinematic art. The "open window" is an ongoing constant portage that has become the guiding idea of the new environment of digital technology, which formats the same idea in a defined context.This principle always accompanies us and was the component for the inspiration and design of our site, the last creation of "Graphic Arts DETORAKIS" and the publishing house ITANOS. Our Publishing House was created in order to talk about art using all possible means, adding the unsurpassed quality of our books, a kaleidoscope of multimedia capable of responding to all the senses.
