Chrissy is a proud Adnyamathanha, Dieri, Bardi and Karajarri woman who holds more than 25 years of knowledge, expertise, and experiences in the trauma informed space. She has held roles on both a state-wide and national level from Mental Health Clinician, Practice Lead, Clinical Lead, Principal Aboriginal Consultant, Senior Social Worker, Senior Coordinator and Manager. Her areas of expertise include, Department for Child Protection, Crisis Response Unit, Crisis Support Helpline (13YARN – Lifeline Australia, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service and SAPOL. Chrissy's significant work portfolio is a specialty like no other as she has walked the journey and carried battle scars, that no one dares to walk. Chrissy completed and graduated from Deakin University, Geelong, Victoria with a Bachelor of Social Work. Further study for Chrissy is on the cards for 2023 with University of Melbourne, which will continue to value add her academic journey.Chrissy acknowledges from both a personal and professional journey the challenges of separating both cultural and agency expectations is a skill set that takes time to develop and adapt. For any service who provides supports and oversees First Nations workforce and consumers, partnerships and a focus to strengthen relationships is key. If we don't do this, how do we expect anyone to come back tomorrow and the next.
