Junket, post-retail (9/2018-now): we're focused on developing supply chain strategy for reused goods, and have made a strategic move into wholesale logistics and online operations. Junket's retail products (vintage & re-manufacture) are found at shopjunket.com/shop-online/. For wholesale inquiries: info@shopjunket.com.We've also teamed up with Better Futures MN to develop a venue (maker space meets folk school meets tool library meets social space) for the promotion & practice of reuse. A summer, 2019 rollout is targeted. As 2019 begins, we've prioritized socializing climate awareness and developing/testing strategies for functional reuse at scale. Given the recent increase in social interest in climate change mitigation, Julie is focused on speaking, writing, and consulting while the team supports Junket's warehouse operations.Junket as reuse shop (11/2012-8/2018): After launching brick & mortar operations in the fall of 2012, Julie used Junket's presence to champion the emergence of a sustainable shopping corridor along a formerly blighted stretch of Minnehaha Ave. During that time, Julie attracted & brokered the arrival of restaurant infrastructure in the Hiawatha neighborhood, citing the area's food forest reputation and a desire to better support area visitors and businesses. Before closing the business, a data set for future franchise of the brand was developed as the business pivoted to focus on supply chain development & ethical systems design.Junket, prior to retail (1/2010-10/2012): the business was launched from nothing by a cash-strapped single mama. Julie Kearns combined both corporate and guerrilla tactics to scale a distributed + online resale business out of her living space. During that time, she developed & designed brand & logo treatment, environmental mission/premise, and established marketing platforms in anticipation of a future national presence for the brand and for reuse as a socially normative practice.
