Local Energy Agency Spodnje Podravje supports the introduction of good energy management practices, advocates the concept of sustainability, provides information and guidance, and offers a number of other local services based on specific local energy needs. They operate impartially on both energy demand and supply issues. Some of the activities of the Agency are: Development, research, training, promotion of energy efficiency and introduction of renewable energy sources in the region in order to maximise the self-supply of energy and to strengthen the well-being of the inhabitants of Spodnje Podravje;- Supporting the development of new technologies and processes;- Enhancing the sustainable use of energy;- Creation and execution of research, development and training programmes, which are important for enhancing sustainable energy development from the technical, social, economical, scientific and cultural point of view;- Transfer of knowledge, know-how and technologies to practice and development of innovative approaches;- Preserving and protection of the environment;- Publishing for scientific and educational purposes.The Agency has an important influence on energy consumption, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources at the local scale. They work with others Slovenian LEAs, Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, Ministry of Infrastructure and Ministry of Economy.
