Luat Khoa is a non-profit magazine that is independent from governments, corporations, religious organizations, and so on. We value press freedom as a fundamental pillar of a healthy society. Although Vietnam has not yet been a democracy, we believe that an independent media that is committed to high quality journalism plays one of the central roles in securing a brighter future for our country. We focus on laws and politics, providing truthful information and useful knowledge for the Vietnamese audience. Self-censorship has no place in our operation despite the fact that our personnel are facing persecution in Vietnam. One of our co-founders and editors, Pham Doan Trang, has been awarded the Press Freedom Prize by Reporters Without Borders in September 2019.
