Muskaan: foundation for Road Safety, a charitable trust working PAN INDIA for more than TWO DECADES to build a culture of safety on roads through various road safety interventions. Our focus areas are Training, Education & Awareness, Community Initiatives, and Advocacy. With its head office in Jaipur Rajasthan, the NGO works all over India. Our recent projects have been in states like Odisha, Bihar, Gujarat, and Himachal Pradesh. The NGO has been awarded two times with National Awards by the Ministryof Road Transport & Highways, Government of India, (MoRTH) in the years 2010 and subsequently in the year 2020 OBJECTIVES: 1 To work on 5 pillars of United Nations i.e. Road Safety Management, Safer Roads & Mobility, Safer Vehicles, Safer rod users, and Post-Crash Response2 To build the capacity of stakeholder departments 3 To work for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 To develop and regularly update education programs on road safety for schools and colleges5 Organize programs for mass awareness and campaigns on road safety using local mediums and expressions6 To undertake specialized training programs for capacity building of professional and non-professional drivers7 To draw the attention of policymakers through advocacy on matters about road safety.BACKGROUND The NGO started in the year 1999 in the wake of the death of 17-year-old Durva Bhasin, who lost her life in a road accident. She is the daughter of the founder member couple, Mr. Pramod Bhasin and Dr. Mridul Bhasin. It was registered as a charitable trust in 2001.
