At NovNat Tech, a start-up company incubated at the University of Birmingham, UK, we aim to utilise Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) to develop and provide sustainable solutions for our clients. We have developed our own MOF which we are in the process of patenting, making us the first company in the UK to produce its own MOF. Recently, MOFs have emerged as a unique class of porous materials with unprecedented functional and chemical control, making them highly versatile for use in many applications including harvesting water from air. This class of nano-porous materials are also known for their high surface area, with 1 gram of the material capable of covering a football pitch.
