Nytrix is an aerial surfing sporting competition and stunt show featuring pro-surfers, jet-ski tow-ins and high-flying, acrobatic surfing stunts...at night! The Nytrix events have a festival atmosphere featuring live music, open air movies, local food trucks, bars, live commentary and laser lights. NytriX produces these events at local NSW beach breaks to bring aerial surfing to local communities. A major part of our program focuses on competitions for groms, local boardriders and enthusiasts. We kick off our event series in Kiama against the backdrop of a full, blue moon on 14 September 2019. This is the first time in 35 years that a night surfing contest of this scale has been attempted! NytriX is part of Global Aerial Surfing. Our long term mission is to evangelise the evolution of surfing - aerial surfing by bringing it to the local breaks. We work with local boardriders clubs - boys, girls, men and women - who want to learn and compete in the sport through comps and clinics. We have a particular focus on encouraging young women in the sport with equal prize money for women across all age divisions. Our ultimate goal - through the Nytrix events is to raise awareness of and help inform local communities on strategies of how to encourage minority participation in the sport and keep our beaches inclusive and safe.
