Personal Justice Services or PJS as we are more usually known was founded in 2008 to provide legal assistance. The assistance we give is impartial, confidential and open to all. All too often you can find yourself faced with a problem and have nowhere to turn. With the withdrawal of Legal Aid for many, it can often be expensive just to find out what your legal position is this is why PJS was founded. We work with partner agencies to help resolve the issues you face and work with you to resolve matters so you can get on living your life with no more worries. We are a small 'not for profit'​ social community enterprise staffed by trained volunteers with a legal qualification (LLB, LPC, BPTC or LLM, retired or non-practising lawyers). Who will use their knowledge and skills to help those seeking justice without the cost of lawyers or to assist those who have instructed barristers under direct access but feel unable to deal with the necessary administrative or procedural matters.We are happy to help small firms as well as individuals and operate a can-do ethos. We tailor our service to the individual case and strive to make a real difference. You may have a problem with your house, your car, your job, an inheritance or you may have suffered injury but cannot afford a lawyer. It may be you need help finding a lawyer. Alternatively, you may feel you have a problem with your solicitor, or they have overcharged you.Perhaps your barrister has asked you to deal with aspects of your case you lack the knowledge or confidence to undertake. Whether you wish to commence proceedings or are on the receiving end of a claim; whether the amount at stake is trivial (small claims court procedure) or substantial if you are unfamiliar with the legal process, it will be a worrying experience, and in most cases, we can help.
