Project NEO is a non-profit organization that provides a free no-cost one-on-one peer based after school tutor mentor program. Project NEO focuses on a core remedial reading method, using skills and strategies essential for sustained reading success. By utilizing a select group of high school and college students to help tutor and mentor 2nd thru 8th grade students, Project NEO can successfully address areas in which these students reading skills are challenged.Project NEO's process is simple; it begins by assessing the students learning needs, and then pairing them with an individual tutor who is well suited for that particular student. Throughout the process our staff and tutors continually monitor the progress of each student and provide encouragement and emotional support.
