SERRAN i MORA arquitectes is an architecture studio run by Judit Serran i Xavier Mora. The studio is based in Vilanova i la Geltrú and commenced its activity in 2007. From then on several projects related to different building, refurbishment and restoration fields have been developed working as a team and counting on the help of a network of external collaborators, who warrant the quality of the most technical aspects, as well as the structural analysis.Our achitecture philosophy comes from the need of fighting against the remaining aged, obsolete and damaged building stock, which is the result of the decline of our speculation model. This model has spoilt the architecture field throughout the past few years. That is why we want to make the difference with a combination of defined social and ethical interests, giving priority to the quality of executions and taking the control within the whole process to get supreme efficiency, openness and communication.We provide an added value which lies on the global knowledge of the building. That is the result of an in-depth analysis of the whole building complexity within its own urban, historical and social surrounding, with a special sensitivity for heritage preservation and building tradition. That is how we develop the trustworthy architect figure, who is an expert linked to the building. The expert knows at first hand the users of the building, individually and as a group, as well as their needs, casuistry and problems. We achieve this bond by treating the users closely in order to get a prompt answer so we can reduce the price of costs, prolong the building lifespan and warrant the highest comfort for the occupants.
