The Manifold is a non-profit, journalistic collective, founded in 2018 and based in Athens, Greece. We do in-depth investigative and explanatory journalism in the public interest, focusing on social issues that require long-term commitment to research, contextualise and monitor. Examples include the child protection system, energy democracy, and police accountability. We publish these investigations either as series of long-form stories in various outlets, or as "Files" in our own platform, The Manifold Files. "Files" are collections of long-form stories, source documents on which the stories are based, and indexes of persons and institutions that drive relevant events. Files function as both repositories of knowledge about investigated issues, and active monitors of ongoing developments.
