The Tal Fund was established with the mission of: "expeditiously supporting effective community activism that seeks to preserve Israel's air, water and land resources and to encourage sustainable development in Israel."Israel's environment faces a variety of insults and challenges. The Tal fund provides strategic investments and grants that strengthen local capacity and grassroots efforts, focusing on the country's key ecological challenges: - Preventing irreversible damage; - Protecting public health; -Ensuring ecological integrity; and -Preserving the landscape and natural heritage of the country. The Tal Fund seeks out and supports the most creative and effective Israeli environmental organizations, activists, and initiatives that address these problems and provide sustainable alternatives. Priority is given to Israel's most pressing environmental problems.
