The main purpose of the College is to train practical engineers and technicians in various areas of technology. Graduates of the college complete a course of study in technology and practical engineering which is comparable to those offered by similar institutions abroad. The Technological College of Beer Sheva is a leader in terms of technological education within the Bedouin population. An initiative, started in 2007 in conjunction with the Ministry of Trade Industry and Labor, was to accept young bedouin teenagers after high school and train and teach them in the fields of Chemical Engineering, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Mechanical Engineering. 200 tuitions and fees were paid by the Ministry, including free transportation to and from the College every day by buses.
