Engagement is at the heart of an urban public research university, it is also at the heart of FIU's commitment to our community, both locally and globally. At FIU, faculty, staff and students work closely with our partners addressing the relevant issues of our time. Last year, thousands of students and hundreds of faculty and staff collaborated with members of the community on a range of issues, contributing more than 550,000 service hours to hundreds of service projects. FIU's Office of Engagement was established in February 2010 as part of President Mark B. Rosenberg's vision of FIU as "a leading student-centered urban public research university that is locally and globally engaged."The office provides leadership for the development and coordination of partnerships at the local, state, national and international levels with the goal of aligning FIU's instructional, research and creative initiatives with local and global needs and priorities.

Founded in 1977, The Art Museum at Florida International University (MMC/FIU) started as a student gallery. Since then, it has grown to achieve official recognition as a major cultural institution of the State of Florida for its unprecedented collection of Latin American and 20th century American art, its innovative exhibitions that draw on or enhance the collection, and its unparalleled service to South Florida's diverse audiences. In 2003, the Art Museum at FIU was officially renamed The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum.In 1999, The Museum received accreditation from the American Association of Museums (AAM). It has assumed a central role in the FIU community and in the cultural life of South Florida as a whole through its mission to serve the broadest audience possible and to deliver all programs and services free of charge. The Frost Art Museum is also an affiliate within the Smithsonian Affiliations program.

Jackson Health Foundation a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, is the fundraising arm of Jackson Health System, the most comprehensive healthcare provider in South Florida. Through the generosity of compassionate donors, the Foundation financially assists Jackson Health System in providing world-class medical care to children and adults in South Florida, and the global community. Money raised by the Foundation helps support major projects, special needs that cannot be funded by public monies and projects of special interest to donors and philanthropists. The Foundation's fundraising efforts allow Jackson Health System to provide life-saving medical care to those in financial need, improve health care delivery, enhance the hospital experience for patients, and promote wellness and preventive medicine. Established in 1991 as Jackson Memorial Foundation, the organization was renamed Jackson Health Foundation in 2014, to more closely align with the Jackson Health System. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer member board of directors who are committed to philanthropic activities that benefit Jackson Health System.MISSION To raise funds to support Jackson Health System's mission of providing a single high standard of quality care for all residents of Miami-Dade County, while also delivering world-class specialty care for patients across the country and around the world.VISIONThe vision of the Jackson Health Foundation is to provide Jackson Health System with the support and resources to excel as a world-class academic medical system.

City Year is a trailblazing, youth-powered organization with a dual mission: expanding educational equity for students furthest from opportunity and developing diverse leaders through national service. Research shows the more time a student spends with a City Year AmeriCorps member serving as a student success coach, the better the student outcomes—academically, socially, and emotionally. A public-private partnership, City Year is a proud member of AmeriCorps, operating in 29 U.S. cities with international affiliates in the U.K. and South Africa. Today, 37,000 alums continue to lead and serve where they live and work.

City Year New York's (CYNY) mission is to help students and schools succeed. Fueled by national service, we partner with systemically under-resourced schools to help bridge the gap between what students need and what most schools are equipped to provide. CYNY AmeriCorps members form positive, developmental relationships with students, encourage them to come to school every day, and provide evidence-based academic and social-emotional supports that help students persevere through challenges, build on their strengths, and thrive. CYNY serves in four communities across New York City: East Harlem (Manhattan), the South Bronx (Bronx), East New York (Brooklyn), and Jackson Heights (Queens), helping provide the just, equitable learning environments and high-quality education that all children deserve. For school year 2021-2022, we have deployed 215 AmeriCorps members to serve 17 partner schools with a combined enrollment of 7,000 students. City Year's signature program, Whole School Whole Child, was developed in collaboration with education and youth development researchers and practitioners. Through the program, CYNY trains and places diverse teams of young adults with partner schools and teachers to improve students' attendance, social-emotional skills, and course performance in literacy and math.City Year New York is also a proud partner of the NYC Department of Education's Office of Community Schools. As the lead Community Based Organization in Community Schools across New York City, our work establishes the school as a pillar of the neighborhood by providing access to programs and services such as health care, expanded learning programs, adult programs, and other services. Each Community School partnership enables us to implement our Whole School Whole Child model holistically and in collaboration with the entire school community.
