In partnership with Houston Community College (HCC), Alief Early College opened with its first freshman class in August of 2009. AECHS combines high school anddual credit college coursework in a supportive, yet rigorous educational environment.Located on the HCC Alief Campus, AECHS gives prospective first-generation college students and other typically underrepresented populations in higher education the opportunity to earn a distinguished achievement high school diploma and college hours toward an Associates Degree.All students are welcome to apply to Alief Early College High School. Students areselected by a lottery which targets the populations outlined in the TEA Early College Blueprint.
