Beeshoek Mine is around 65km south of Khumani Mine near the town of Postmasburg, in the Northern Cape province. It produced all our iron-ore output for decades from the mid-1960s. Over the years, a series of large-scale infrastructure projects have maximised efficiency and productivity on site. These included a full washing and screening plant installed in 1975, and a jig plant to beneficiate off-grade ore, completed in 2001. Assmang commissioned a new opencast mine, Beeshoek South, in 1999.
