The Division of Podiatric Surgery at BIDMC is an Harvard Medical School teaching affiliate. It is composed of 6 podiatric foot and ankle surgeons specializing in all aspects of foot surgery, including reconstructive surgery, revisional surgery and limb salvage surgery. Our surgeons are nationally recognized and participate in CME programs nationally and internationally. They are also leaders in the profession of podiatric surgeon holding positions in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ABFAS) and the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA). It also runs a highly competitive 3-year residency program providing training in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery and rotations in internal medicine, emergency medicine, general and vascular surgery, orthopedic trauma, anesthesiology and plastic surgery. In addition to serving as the primary provider of non-surgical and surgical care of the foot throughout the BIDMC network, the Division also provides collaborative foot and ankle care through The Foot & Ankle Center of HMFP and the Limb Preservation Center at BIDMC. The former is a collaboration with orthopedics while the latter is a collaboration with vascular surgery and plastic surgery. Our faculty is available for case consultation and for CME programs.
