My name is Olivier Bollag. I'm an artist from Zürich, Switzerland focusing on Illustrative and contemporary art. My latest series is called "Colorful Faces". This series shows the beauty of different shapes and profiles existing in this world. My inspiration for art started during my apprenticeship as a Swiss Watchmaker. I needed to use precise, black & white drawings to create specific watch pieces, such as wheels or dials. During this time, where my professional drawings were purely black & white, I needed a contrast, something colorful and freehand. During my commute to the factory, I encountered many travelers who had a slightly depressed expression on their faces. This inspired me to draw my imagination of their facial expressions when they are happy and cheerful. Giving a smile to a stranger can change their day. I want my art to magically allow a smile appear on their face to enhance their wellbeing and continue spreading happiness.May we all share good moments of happiness and good health, with a smile on our faces.
