The California Golden Overtones are the premier all-female identifying a cappella group at the University of California, Berkeley. Founded in 1962, the Overtones have released multiple recordings, most recently their EP "Out of Line," and placed second in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) in 2001. The Overtones have also recently been named one of "the 10 Female Groups Running the A Cappella World" by College Magazine. The group of 13 womxn hopes to break the boundaries of a cappella by demonstrating a unique and powerful female sound, while spreading a message of empowerment and unity through music.
