In 2000 Olga Cobos and Peter Mika create CobosMika COMPANY. Their daring, explosive and virtuous choreographic language blends dance with improvisation and adds elements from martial arts and physical theatre.Previously, Olga and Peter had formed themselves as dancers in renowned companies such as Rui Horta S.O.A.P. Dance Theatre (Frankfurt) or Russell Maliphant Company (London), or Ballet Gulbenkian (Lisbon).Established in its origins in Germany, with the institutional support of the city of Münich, in 2005 CobosMika decides to move to Palamós, Olga's home town, where they are the resident company at Teatre La Gorga. In January 2009 they inaugurate SOLC, Espai de Dansa i Moviment, a new creation, training and research centre.Their choreographic work is requested by renowned directors and companies where they have also presented their repertory with over 20 creations at present.Throughout this period, the company has been awarded prestigious prizes such as commission by "Robin Howard Foundation" at The Place, London (2002), 1st Prize "Fördertanz Preise" to the best choreographic work, Munich (2003, biannual) or the 1st Prize of Scenic Arts at Inund'Art (Girona 2008).
