The Columbia Heights Initiative is a local 501(c )(3) non-profit, whose mission is to enrich the quality of life in our community by creating local events where residents and visitors can connect and celebrate our neighborhood. Our organization strives to promote values of diversity, service, character, compassion, and unity in Columbia Heights.We connect and unite people, businesses, and nonprofits in the neighborhood to work together to strengthen the community. We want Columbia Heights to be a place where everyone can thrive.We've always celebrated Columbia Heights through events, but now we hope to strengthen community service, instill a sense of belonging, and support residents, businesses, and nonprofits through workshops, a neighborhood directory, and networking opportunities.To provide free, accessible events to all Columbia Heights residents, we create partnerships with local businesses and nonprofits who are committed to financially supporting these efforts. Our partners range from small businesses to large corporations and include schools, places of worship and community organizations, who support our work at different levels.But we are also committed to investing in our local business, nonprofit, and faith community.Through our business and nonprofit membership program we offer access to valuable resources, professional connections, and greater visibility in Columbia Heights.
