Deliberate Discourse is a national dinner discussion series focused on important social issues, including unconscious bias. Face-to-face dialog is a simple and powerful way to increase understanding, grow in empathy, and discover new possibilities.Deliberate Discourse events take the format of family style dinners where friends and strangers meet to share a meal and participate in a facilitated conversation. During each dinner, we discuss our experience, how the topic affects our lives and the lives of others, and how we can move through our conscious and unconscious biases to create a more equitable society. We send content to participants to review prior to the dinner, providing additional context and framing. Utilizing Experience Design and years of research into behavior change, the dinners are intentionally crafted to make participants feel comfortable, welcomed, and ready to be vulnerable.
