Horsh Ehden Nature Reserve covers about 1700 Ha of public land ranging in altitude from 1200m to 2000m. The Forest has a recognised outstanding value for biodiversity conservation. It was declared as nature reserve on the 9th of March, 1992. The rich flora diversity is composed of more than 1030 species, with 10 species endemic to the reserve, 126 nationally endangered species and more than 200 rare species. In addition, more than 250 animal species, more than 20 of them are global threatened.The reserve's management staff strives for the conservation of its natural resources.
