Houston Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Association (HFFVA) is a 501(c)(6) tax-exempt professional organization of the Houston region produce industry. HFFVA was established in 1937 with a mission to promote the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables. The association develops and supports programs that benefit the community, including the Gift of Produce hunger-relief effort. Since the start of the Gift of Produce program in 1986, HFFVA has donated more than 35 million pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to Houston Food Bank for distribution throughout southeast Texas.
