Max is 10. He has autism. I'm his mom. Together we create kids' books to raise money for charities.\\Max and I started using art to transform his autism in 2010 when we created art pieces to sell in galleries and hang in shows as a way to help Max learn social skills. We even won an award for our work at the Queen Ann Arts Walk in Seattle.\\In 2012, Max started at a new school and it was a difficult transition and during the process we started writing books together as a way to make it easier to be the new kid at school. By the time we'd written the third book, Max was fully adjusted and thriving in his new class.
