We are a science education nonprofit located in Reno, Nevada, dedicated to providing hands-on experiences to the Nevada public with our state's amazing plants and animals. Our flagship program is our seasonal outdoor science center and butterfly house located just north of Reno. We also partner with a variety of local organizations for public educational events, and lead programs at schools and other youth groups throughout the year. Our programs highlight the biology and ecology of Nevada's native plants and animals and teach individuals of all ages about the roles these organisms play in our everyday lives. In addition to our family programming, we also lead the Nevada Butterfly Monitoring Network, a citizen science project that is part of the North American Butterfly Monitoring Network (www.thebutterflynetwork.org). This program collects valuable long-term butterfly diversity data as a way to measure and understand changes in animal communities over time in response to a changing environment.
