Number Champions is a UK charity founded in 2018. We train our volunteers to provide one-to-one support to children (aged 6-8) in state primary schools who are behind in maths. We have developed a wide range of resources and games which our volunteers use to help children build skills and confidence in maths. Many children who fall behind in maths in the early years simply switch off the subject and never catch up. Our volunteers can change this.We thoroughly vet all our volunteers and ensure they have a DBS check before working with children.These volunteers are generally not teachers, so to support them we have Mentors (also volunteering) whom we require to have primary school teaching experience. Our Area Leaders (also volunteering) help us recruit schools and volunteers and also liaise with them.
