ReefID is a company dedicated to protecting our oceans by using digital imagery and marine life identification to educate and inspire current and future ocean advocates.Its mission is to promote ocean conservation and awareness by using interactive resources that help people identify, record and share their experiences with marine life.In 2010, ReefID began creating a resource for ocean adventurers to quickly identify the marine inhabitants they encountered through their travels around the world. ReefID has built an image database, that is continuously being filled with common and not so common creatures seen by divers, snorkelers, fishermen and anyone else lucky enough to see some of our ocean wonders up close.ReefID's unique and easy to use identifier system provides ways for users to sort through fish, invertebrates and mammals using locations and common visual clues.In addition to ReefID's free web based system, the ease of use and sophistication of ReefID's program has lent itself to the creation of its AquariApp™ product line.ReefID's AquariApps™ are downloadable cell phone and tablet applications that help people get more out of their marine life experiences and are being developed for public aquariums and ocean focused travel destinations.
