Sisu Athletic Development is located near Utica, NY and specializes in training programs, running camps, and coaching services. Sisu is a Finnish word that translates to willpower, determination, perseverance, or simply GUTS.Sisu Athletic Development is owned and directed by Jeremy West. Coach West is a RRCA and USATF Level 1 Certified Coach. He currently holds the titles of Head Varsity Girls Cross Country Coach, Assistant Varsity Coed Indoor Track & Field Coach, and Head Modified Girls Outdoor Track & Field Coach for the New Hartford Central School District. During his five years of coaching, his modified boys and girls cross country teams have won the Tri-Valley League Cross Country Championship (2011, 2012), his varsity girls cross country teams have won the Tri-Valley League Cross Country Championship (2013), and his varsity girls indoor track & field teams have won the Independent League Indoor Track & Field Championship (2013). Coach West previously held the title of Volunteer Assistant Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach at SUNY Institute of Technology, in which the men's team won the North East Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship in 2010.Coach West is active in the local running scene and is also an active member of the Utica Roadrunners where he is a member of the Racing Team, head of the Youth Development committee, and on the Board of Directors.
