A Swiss think tank reflecting on the future of Human Capital in the labour market.The long-term future of work has changed for the better because it has become more digitized.The big shift in the labor market is technological. It should be easy for anyone to experiment it with new digital and cross-border business models, offering protection to workers, in order to have confidence and bargaining power to negotiate for themselves. The global economy is undergoing an unprecedented transformation, driven by new technologies, artificial intelligence, and advanced robotics that disrupt more and more industries. This evolution is also defined by the increasing enlightenment of individuals about the future of work. A new emerging and growing class of workers is challenging every aspect of our work market. This dramatic increase is visible in the number of self-employed, on-demand, independents freelancers bringing positive development to a more and more efficient and productive working environment. However given that our society still largely runs on the baby boomers' policies, people, and systems, these workers face a variety of challenges, including ensuring consistent constant workflow and maintaining security in their lives. So how to ensure that this new class of workers will thrive in the years ahead? Our Lab explores solutions and new tools for workers in order to help them make the lives of workers more stable and accessible to universal portable benefit, social and financial security. We also bring insights on how our government could develop its regulatory framework in order to face those new challenges. We put our knowledge, expertise, and experiences together by sharing a new mindset about the value of people. We believe that everyone can have good work and everybody can create value for each other. We "just" need an economy that lets people create that value.
