Think Make Tank believes in the notion that "an idea must be experienced to make it one's own." (Aida Mitsuo). The artist collective based in San Francisco is committed to creating experiences and building a community around those experiences. We explore ideas through artistic experimentation and improvisation and invite the public to participate. Founded in 2016, the core collective consists of four artists: Alex Nichols, Mushi Woo Seong James, Jorge Bachman and Magali Charmot. Each artist comes from a different artistic practice. Film, Choreography, Writing, Anthropology, Sound Art, Visual Arts. We are multi-generational and multi-cultural. The projects we support are innovative and inclusive in nature, exploring and experiencing ideas physically, using the artistic mediums of sound, image, and movement. We focus on collaboration and collaborative improvisation to produce the unexpected. The Tank's goal is to involve the public in a playful and open manner through the process of art and collaborative interaction. Like theatre improv we focus on the concept of ‘ Yes and..'Our programming can take any shape or form in its presentation - with the aim of immersion. Located at 151 Potrero street.
