We share the precept that the time has come for the world medical community to broaden its viewpoint beyond state and national borders to embrace a more inclusive, global perspective on teaching and healthcare delivery.Our deans and faculty are drawn from leadership positions in the U.S. and world medical academic mainstreams. We are extraordinarily sensitive to the unique needs, prerogatives and challenges of international medical students. We have years of experience overseeing international students' seamless transition into mainstream clinical training, research and practice opportunities.The tangible rewards are great. A medical degree confers a measure of pride, respect and flexibility unprecedented in other professions.The successful practice of medicine today is a team effort hence the culture of medical education should foster a spirit of collaboration rather than rivalry.
