Wheels 2 Work County Durham is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) transport scheme based in Bullion Hall, Chester le Street and our aim is to help people access or sustain employment, apprenticeships or education which would otherwise be inaccessible due to poor public transport connections or unsociable hours work patterns.We loan mopeds for 6 months with the possibility of extending, to ensure people can get to work, apprenticeships or participate in further education. Mopeds of either 50cc or 125cc are available to people aged 16+ as long as they have at least a provisional licence. The cost is £30 per week. The loan also includes helmet, jacket, high visibility vest, gloves and a heavy duty lock, insurance (moped only), tax, breakdown cover as well as servicing of the moped. We receive donations and grants to support our running costs and are very grateful to the following funders for their support.
