WorkTies is a mobile and web-based platform that connects recruiters and candidates with algorithm- and social-powered matchmaking. Despite the current number of job openings and the number of qualified job seekers, there is a mismatch in the supply and demand of the job market. WorkTies is working on this issue by focusing on two areas to increase efficiency: reach and relevance. For reach, the app is engaging and uses monetary rewards and incentives to encourage users to refer jobs to friends who “might be looking”. Without this, recruiters have limited reach (especially to passive candidates). Furthermore, they have no indication of candidate interest. For relevance, WorkTies is designed to extract data from users for matching, such as skills and desires. We use this data to score matches intelligently, helping to screen for irrelevant jobs / candidates. Transparency, intelligent screening, and enhanced reach help reduce costly amounts of time spent finding the right fit.
