According to this contract the HIS compensates for 40% of psychotherapy fee, for clients referred from general practitioners. Our main goals: · to promote the members' continuous professional development according to International standards. · to enhance public interest in psychology and its importance, and further develop psychological knowledge thereby promoting the population's need for psychological assistance. · to promote and maintain a high ethical standard among our members. · to encourage cooperation and understanding between different professions, interest groups and stake holders that professional psychologists work together with. · to promote cooperation between Faroese psychologists and the International psychological society. · to promote scientific research and professional training relevant to the population's needs.· to safeguard our clients' rights to financial compensation for psychological treatment equally with other health services.
