The Youth Commission delivers high quality, universal targeted services for children and young people in order to support the development of their social, physical and emotional wellbeing.The Youth Commission for Guernsey and Alderney (The Youth Commission) is an independent local charity responsible for the delivery of youth work in the Bailiwick. We provide children and young people aged 4-25 with seamless access to a range of universal and specialist services ensuring they can take part in activities or get the tailored support that is most relevant to their individual needs. Our dedicated, skilled workers provide children and young people with high quality, effective, evidenced-based services and support. Our services range from access to positive activities, the opportunity to gain qualifications and develop important skills to one-to-one specialist emotional support, which was previously provided by The HUB. Our services are delivered in youth centres, schools and via outreach teams who work with children and young people wherever they are, on their own terms. The Youth Commission manages the Prince's Trust programme, Duke of Edinburgh scheme and the Youth Forum, which provides a voice for young people within the community, as well as organising tailored projects. We effectively measure and transparently communicate the impact of our services to ensure we are efficient, fit for the future and are successfully responding to the needs of children and young people.The Youth Commission also supports a network of voluntary sector children and young people organisations across the Bailiwick to develop services that are safe, high quality and sustainable.The support of the local community is fundamental to the success of The Youth Commission and we rely on close partnerships with organisations and funders to continue to develop the services we offer.
