Brooks Hire is the largest privately owned hire company in Australia, specialising in the supply of earthmoving and road-building equipment to the civil and mining industries. The company was established in 1979 when Doug Brooks purchased two u/s compressors on bankcard. The fleet expanded, with Doug acquiring the first piece of mobile plant in 1982, an 8 tonne JEC crane, by tender. At this point, Doug was operating the whole business from a small shed in Eneabba. He was working 18-hour days and living five days a week in a humpy behind the shed, while simultaneously working locally as a fitter. His dedication continued throughout the weekends as Saturdays consisted of driving to Perth to obtain parts and Sunday was his day for accounts as well as returning to Eneabba.Over 35 years, Brooks Hire's fleet has grown to more than 1000 pieces of machinery including backhoes, breakers, dozers, dump trucks, excavators and attachments, freight trucks, forklifts, graders, light towers, loaders, rollers, service trucks, side tippers, skid-steers, tele handlers, tip trucks, tool carriers, water trucks and various other machinery.Every machine is backed by experienced and trade qualified mechanical staff that are on call 24-hours a day seven days a week. Brooks Hire has 13 conveniently located branches throughout Australia including Perth, Kalgoorlie, Karratha, Port Hedland, Newman, Brisbane, Dalby, Toowoomba, Mackay, Darwin, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne.
