We've been helping people in our community to make better life choices and become self-sufficient since 1955. We have programs for youth and adults, including, but not limited to GED classes, managing anger and difficult emotions, employment readiness programs, youth education and training programs, programs to keep youth from gun and gang violence, mentorship, and much more.We also run the CHIMO Helpline, a provincial crisis phone line, which provides crisis intervention in both English and French. If you are in crisis, please call us at 1-800-667-5005.We are committed to ending homelessness. We currently house more than 50 people who were previously living on the streets or in shelters. We believe in a housing first model, providing homes to many who are denied a place to live by others. Once housed, we work with the individual to help them make better life choices. In addition to our housing units, we also run a low-barrier shelter that provides a place to sleep for 30 individuals. We are a charity and your support is important to allowing us to provide the services necessary to help people in our community.Every year, we organize a "Coldest Night of the Year" walk to help fund our programs.
